Affordable Housing

Twenty affordable homes on five acres — where residents have a place to live, land to tend, and neighbors who know them.

What We're Building

Charlotte is short 40,000 affordable units. But the crisis isn't only about cost — it's about what instability costs people: roots, relationships, and a life that feels like theirs.

Kinship Plot Homes is a pocket neighborhood of twenty small, beautifully designed homes for low-income individuals and families, anchored by a shared community building for meals, learning, and life together.

OUR MISSION

This isn't housing as a stopgap. It's housing as a foundation for belonging.

Who This Is For

Those who sustain the life of our city—teachers, childcare workers, bus drivers, home healthcare workers, and young families— who deserve to live in the communities they serve.

Residents sign renewable one-year leases and may stay up to five years, with a matched savings contribution toward their next step.

Where We Are

We're in pre-development on five acres at 5735 E. W.T. Harris Blvd, partnering with The Grove Presbyterian Church.  With an architect and development consultant on board and early funding in place, we're excited to keep raising funds and break ground soon.

Estimated project cost: $9 million.
